lots of people make that mistake.
films are in general shot on 35mm film - and have been for a long time.
film isnt digital, so it doesnt have a resolution as such - but, it does
contain far more picture info and indeed colour depth than a hi def signal
could hope to - so that's where the better picture comes from.
