Are you in the United States? If so, I don't know how good it is, and
who makes the product...but recently, at Wal-Mart, I saw a DVD recorder
with a built-in hard drive for $250. It's under the Polaroid name. The
looks are very impressive, but I don't know how well it would perform.
The problem with DVD technology is the compression used. With Mpeg-2, I
don't think we'll ever see half decent images at the 6 hour speed. The
answer would be a recorder that could use the highly compressed Divx format.
