As in mac G5? I used one - but not for video editing. it was an R&D
project for something scientific. We clustered four of them and
created what I called a "ghetto supercomputer."
anyway, back to miniDV. Can a miniDV tape be played in one of these
DVCAM decks?
If not, is there such a thing as a miniDV deck?
One thing I'm worried about is wear and tear on the camera. I had one
failure on my Canon already - covered under warranty; I barely used the
damn thing. Back in 1992 I had a Canon 8mm camcorder die on me too.
Are Canons the bottom of the barrel? I'm looking for a new camcorder -
and I would like to stick with miniDV - something with a version of
Sony's optical Steadyshot. Canon has a digital image stabilization but
I think there's a quality loss in there somewhere. I'll look into
Hitachi and JVC>
