There is a JVC deck for about $800, but it is not well-regarded.
Though a friend swears by his.
The Sony DSR 11 is about the cheapest. $1600 new, about 2/3rds that on
Ebay.

I have a Canon "snapshot" video camera so I don't have to haul around
my pd150. Not reliable. But what do you want for a couple hundred
bucks?
