The higher tapespeed at DVCAM has nothing to do with more bandwitdh, but
more to do with offering a "safer" recording because the data is spread out
more, and the gaps between the tracks are wider. So in case you get a
drop-out, the effect on DVCAM is far less than on mini-DV.
The channel 3/4 are probably only meant for professionals, because none of
the consumer NLE-software and camcorders/decks supports those channels, but
professional decks do.
