No, I don't think it's quite that simple. I'm using various Avid products on
various systems, including Xpress Pro HD on non-recommended hardware and it
works fine. Avid-recommended hardware is more or less a guarantee that the
s/w will work properly, but it will also work properly on lots of
non-recommended systems, though obviously not all.
You should definitely try installing all the latest drivers, especially your
video drivers. It may (or may not) help.
