HD-DVD UK people Please don't spam this thread!!
There's an interesting interview with a guy from Toshiba on DVD Times
regarding the tech differences between HD-DVD & Blu-ray, the politics
involved in the format war and the reasons why Blu-ray are having problems
making a dual layer disc etc.

The more I read about it, the more it seems like HD-DVD is the way to go for
general home cinema, and Blu-ray as an exclusive format for the PS3.
There's some interesting stuff in there about the fact that both formats
were proposed to the DVD Forum, and the HD-DVD (AOD) spec was the one that
was accepted, Sony just went ahead with their own thing anyway because they
wanted to make money from the patents on their own format. Anyway, good
article, read it.
