Make sure your firewall is not blocking incoming connections. The Windows XP firewall
will be enabled by default and blocks incoming P2P connections - so a rule needs to
be created to allow Winmx traffic.
If you are using a router, then you will need to forward the ports.
If you are on a network and have no admin control over it, -- or if all else fails -- then in
Winmx, go into "settings" / "internet connection" / and then change "incoming TCP
connections" by checking the box for "unable to accept incoming TCP connections".
Also, if your connection cannot do UDP, (some proxy conns don't support it) then
change "in/out UDP packets" by checking the box "unable to send or receive UDP ...
