The last "proper" format war was won by one of the technology they
tried to replace.
Both DAT, DCC and Minidisc failed to achive much commercial
success. Minidisc was the most successful, while DAT saw greater use
in the computer market as a backup device. But still the Compact Disc
rules them all :)
