Hmmm, I think I might have a route you can go.
I recently went on vacation and shot footage on three separate mini-DVDs.
I wanted to put all three DVDs on full sized DVD with time code data
included. So, far I've only been able to create the full sized DVD without
the timecode info.
I have a Canon DC-40 (very happy with it btw) and used the included [My DVD
by Roxio] software to put all onto a single DVD.
While trying to figure out the time code thing I had renamed the .vob files
that I needed to MPG and used Nero Ultra 6 to import, edit and then save as
an .avi file. Turns out there was a feature in that software that would let
me import directly from the camera (disc in.) I have also successfully used
a program called Auto Gordian Knot to read the .vob file and convert to avi.
If you would like to know more, I would be happy to tell you. Hope this
helps!
You wouldn't by any chance know how I could save the timecode data would
you? From what I've been reading, its almost impossible to do with MPEG-2.
One other thing, I am working of a PC not a Mac. However I suspect similar
programs are available for your machine.
I had an easier time converting my DV-Tapes to MPEG than working with these
DVDs.
