What are the symptoms ? - is it always a particular zone ?
How is that zone monitored - passives, pressure pads, mag contacts ?
If its a passive, is it pointing towards a window that may have a
draught or strong varying sunlight hitting it ? (they're sometimes a
little over-sensitive under these circumstances, and may be more suited
to being placed facing away from a window if possible) - have you taken
the cover off it to make sure it hasn't got a visiting spider ?
Pressure pads deteriorate with age - the tinfoil starts to flake. No
solution other than to replace it.
Magnetic contacts are generally reliable, but its possible that the
expansion and shrinkage of doors / frames might just be enough to cause
it to trigger - particularly if rattled by wind...
If you're getting it on a particular zone, the other thing to try might
be to short out the passive etc to see if it still triggers - if so,
you're looking at a wiring fault. If you have a tamper circuit on that
zone, you might be able to extricate that from the panel (they're often
wired in series across all zones) and utilise those pairs if the wiring
is OK - shouldn't be too much of an issue as most circuits are now
configured as always on, rather than always off and switching on under
alarm conditions.
It may even be a duff panel or knackered backup battery causing it* but
i'd try to rule out the other circuits first :-}
* we once had a problem caused by a faulty SCB module in the bellbox
