Help!!
Recently, I purchased and downloaded Premier Elements 2.0 to complete a
project that was started a few months ago with Premier 6.5. The project
is pretty basic audio and video and comprises about 40 .avi files.
I uninstalled Premier 6.5 and went to work only to encounter continual
crashing -- complete freeze-ups requiring cold reboots when working on
the project -- no matter what I am doing. Even when the playback is
simply running, with no interaction on my part, the computer freezes
anywhere -- sometimes only 10 seconds into the playbadck and sometimes
10 minutes. It also crashes unexpectedly while I am editing clips and
performing other operations.
Originally the project was housed on an external USB 2.0 drive. I moved
it to the local IDE drive and the crashing still continues.
I tried starting the application while holding the shft key to clear
the plug-in cache -- still crashes. I am at my wits end...
Here are some details of the system that might be relevant.
MS XP Media Center, 2002 with SP2
Pentium 4 3.0GHz 512 MB RAM
Realtec AC'97 Audio
The project is all about the birth of my grandson so it's extremely
important. Any help will be greatly appreciated by me and my family.
