My guess is that you can't reliably import projects between Premiere 6.5 and
Elements. Moving projects between Premiere Pro and Premiere 6.5 will,
generally, work, but not always. Elements contains a subset of the full
Premiere control set. Most likely Elements is stumbling over something that
it doesn't support.
Does Elements crash if you start a new project from scratch?
