I am looking for help reagrding my wifes contract with vodaphone. She signed
up online and thus all her billing is online. Today she looked and has been
charged for sending picture messages. She rang customer services to ask why
and was told that it was down to a change in the policy, picture messages
were no longer part of her package.
Now this would be fine had it not been the only reason she took out the
package in the first place. They said they had sent out letters in July, and
charges were applicable from the first of September, but she never got any
notice. When she told them she was an online customer, they said that oh,
no, they weren't informed about the changes, but as a gesture of goodwill,
she would be credited with pictures she has sent back to her account but
further charges would apply.
They have admitted that she hasn't recieved the 30 days notice of changes
( as agreed in her initial contract) so where does she stand if she now
wants to tell them to stick the contract? Is she still liable to pay the
line until the end of the initial 18 months ( she is 4 months in) or can she
simply not accept the changes and therefore consider the contract void, send
the phone back and have done?
Any help would be appreciated.
