FORBIDDEN GAMES: CRITERION COLLECTION (reviewed by Joe Armenio, overall
score 87/100):
"It would be easy to see Forbidden Games as morally simple, endorsing
the innocent children as opposed to the corrupted adults, but in fact
the behavior of Paulette and Michel is disturbingly macabre. Fossey
herself talks insightfully about this in the 2001 interview found on
this disc, in which she says that Forbidden Games is a film about the
ways in which war makes monsters of children."

THE FRIGHTENERS: UNRATED DIRECTOR'S CUT (reviewed by Bill Gibron,

"By giving the movie back these scenes, Jackson jump-starts what is
already a wonderful film, adding depth and density to all the action and
anarchy. We still have the sensational special effects and amazing
acting, but the movie now makes more sense, seeming to say things that
Jackson only hinted about before."

the best -- would they dare to include such now-forbidden classics as

perusal of the listing of featured shorts confirms my suspicion that our
charity and tolerance towards our forefathers' foibles extends only so
far: 'Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips' and 'Tin Pan Alley Cats' are nowhere to
be found."
