Well, that's always good to know. Considering I've been working with HD
video on a regular basis for a couple of years, and all.

Um, hello? As I said, in most cases it deinterlaces the 1080i footage
by throwing away 540 lines of video. I can't confirm that's true of
that specific projector, but your own words imply that it is: you can't
display interlaced footage on a progressive-scan display without
deinterlacing unless you want it to look like crap... and most
deinterlacers just throw one field away completely rather than try to
figure out which parts haven't changed enough to be a problem.

Film footage at 1080 has more than twice as many pixels as 720. You
don't think that will make a significant difference to picture quality?
