Any wireless microphone that costs less than $400~500
is a cheap plastic toy and you will regret throwing away
your money on it. People who do sound for big-time TV
& movie production would think that $1500~2000 is the
minimum price for a "decent" wireless microphone. Likely
many people reading this have a box in the closet/basement
full of discarded toy plastic junk wireless microphones.

I'd rather not have all my eggs in the one basket.
If something happens to the receiver, BOTH of your
systems are dead.

Then don't waste it on junker toy plastic wireless mics.
Live without them, or rent them as needed.
At least that is my opinion based on personal use in the field,
and from observing the comments of the professionals on
news:rec.arts.movies.production.sound
Others here may have different opinions.
