You might take a look at something like MP3-Boss -- instead of storing
playlists, you create dynamic playlists based on filtering or sorting
your list of mp3s. All your mp3 files (across all drives) are shown in
one list...but you can change the file locations either automatically
(based on things like artist/album) or manually (and then CopyDown the
directory information for all related files).
