I agree try playing them on the camera they were shot on.
It's almost certainly a tape path problem and if it's not to serious you
maybe able to play them on that camera and dub them to a new tape.
If the transport error is too bad then they won't playback at all but that
can't be the case as you'd have been playing back samples while shooting to
ensure your recording were ok. Didn't you?
