Too true and good luck to you. It doesn't look good, however, when you
lambast someone's attempt to help someone whose asked a question.
Instead something like, "That's one idea but how about this alternative"
giving specific specs and prices would have been better.

You're trying to have more money in YOUR pocket at the end of the day
whereas I'm trying to find a way for HIM to have more money in HIS
pocket at the end of the day.

It's absolutely a savings of well over $1000.

Still at least $300 more, non-specific and with no real numbers behind
the "quote". Properly, you would have come back with the numbers and the
equipment list and, perhaps, you might have made a sale to the original
poster.
