The Internet is an essentially US creation. It arose ... by
a stroke of an American pen /// from the Arpanet, a US
military program. I used what is now the internet in 1973,
and used (and abused!) it heavily way back then. The actual
code use today can be be traced all the way back to then.
The WWW, or rather the heart of it, the browsers, was
largely thought of within two miles of where I sit now, in
the US heartland.
