Werner stayed with NASA until after Apollo 11 and also designed missiles
(both in Germany and the USA). The worlds first stand off cruise missiles,
was one of his inventions and unfortunately some early examples of this work
landed near me in Manchester UK.
Before Werner left NASA they never lost an astronaut on a mission, since
then well you tell me.
