I have a large collection of MP3 music that plays beautifully in
Windows Media Player. I recently received an iPod and so I installed
iTunes and imported all my MP3s and now, when played in iTunes, they
sound terrible. There is much white noise - sounds like static - and I
can harly hear the music I love.

I have deleted all the music from the iTunes library so I can start
fresh. Workinging with one MP3 song, I have tried all the various
options offered by iTunes to import the MP3 and nothing seems to avoid
having all the noise. Again, when played in Windows media player or
other MP3 players, the music is clear with no noise.

Am I doing something wrong?
