Re: Need inexpensive floodlight alternative

Thanks much everyone so far,

Maybe I should look into a slideshow with audio type set-up. If I go with
video, guess I'll have to make sure the owner supplies some kind of basic
lighting, the electric is on and there's some lamps/overhead lights. I was
figuring worst case scenario where the electric may be turned off, but that
may be somewhat uncommon now a days as they probably want light when they
show the house to prospective buyers. But I still want something to
supplement that light.

What about floodlights that I can get that you plug in to AC? They'll just
have to have the electricity on if they want a bright video. Anything on a
budget that I can use, that you recommend? The golf car battery routine
sounds good as a back-up, but I'm not sure if I want to be carrying a
luggage cart into the house or an extension from my car battery. An easy to
set up AC floodlight portable enough to plug and then unplug and move to
different rooms is maybe what I need? I'll tell them in advance to have
outlets handy (not blocked by furniture, etc.) If no electric, I'll tell
them I'll get it as bright as I can, but not guaranteed. I know there's
software that claims to brighten your videos, but haven't had any experience
with them to know if it really works and by how much it will brighten.

Maybe the battery/inverter will work as my shoots will only be a few minutes
each, and then I can re-charge, but then again lugging all that equipment.

However, again, I will look into the slideshow/still shot/animate/narration
option. I know it can be done, but not which software, etc. I have a pretty
decent 7 MP digital camera with many manual options, but wouldn't I still
need some supplemental light, but maybe not as much as for video? The camera
has built-in flash, but again, I'm looking at, worst case again, taking
pictures of rooms to get a full angle view maybe 15 to 20 feet back if it's
one of those "great rooms" or a big basement. My still camera doesn't have
an accessory shoe either. Then again, I can use a tripod and quarter second
exposures, etc.

Thanks for any additional advice.
