I have a HD plasma and use a Kiss DP-600 Networked DVD player, even
managed to get that sucker region free finally!! This is a HD player
in that it can play full HD ratio media files off the PC but upscales
SD DVD discs. via a HDMI cable.
It either connects to your router wirelessly, ethernet cable or you can
plug in an external hard drive via front or back USB socket or even a
Thumb Drive/key fob /flash drive whatever people call it. So rather
than write CDR's you could get a £22 2GB flash drive and use that to
port the video if you don't want to wire it to the router. I haven't
used the wireless myself on mine.
I played some HD WMV nature documentary demo files off Microsofts HD
site at 1080i and they were stunning. Showed me just why I wanted the
HD plasma, I also download my TV shows in HD Divx where I can, Lost,
Bones, Criminal Minds etc and they are so sharp they make your eyes
bleed, be warned
I used to use a Liteon2010 networked player which was fine but didn't
play half the file types that the Kiss plays and wasn't HD compatible.
