Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of THE BEAT THAT MY HEART SKIPPED,
CLASSIC CARTOON FAVORITES: CLASSIC HOLIDAY STORIES (VOLUME 9), THE DICK
CAVETT SHOW: THE JOHN LENNON AND YOKO ONO COLLECTION, FAMILY GUY: VOLUME
THREE, MR. AND MRS. SMITH, SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER: CRITERION COLLECTION,
and UNKNOWN CHAPLIN: THE MASTER AT WORK:

THE BEAT THAT MY HEART SKIPPED (reviewed by Brendan Babish, overall
score 92/100):
"Though The Beat That My Heart Skipped avoids being overly sentimental
or uplifting, when it's over you may just find yourself standing and
playing a little air piano in your living room."

CLASSIC CARTOON FAVORITES: CLASSIC HOLIDAY STORIES (VOLUME 9) (reviewed
by Steve Evans, overall score 85/100):
"Children will enjoy the gentle Christmas sentiments on this disc, while
world-weary adults, faced with another over-hyped December of glad
tidings and consumer shilling, might find themselves bemused by Disney's
careful packaging. According to the front of the keepcase, this is a DVD
of classic 'holiday' stories. All of them center on Christmas, of
course, though the box cover is decidedly secular in its presentation of
these old shorts from the Disney vaults."

THE DICK CAVETT SHOW: THE JOHN LENNON AND YOKO ONO COLLECTION (reviewed
by Dennis Prince, overall score 96/100):
"Cavett, too, seems a bit overwhelmed by the situation and, rather than
avoid the on-stage awkwardness, brings it into the open and ultimately
smoothes out the rest of what becomes a candid, quirky, and compelling
conversation."

FAMILY GUY: VOLUME THREE (reviewed by Cynthia Boris, overall
score 90/100):
"Is there any chance of savingFamily Guy, Lois asks? A slim chance, says
Peter. If all of those shows get canceled, then maybe. Of course, all
twenty-nine of those shows have been canceled, some after only a few
airings. Biting the hand that feeds it is one of the things Family Guy
does best."

MR. AND MRS. SMITH (reviewed by James A. Stewart, overall score 88/100):
"Mr. and Mrs. Smith plays out its one joke with a single-minded unity
that considers every permutation of its theme: the spies' rivalry when
assigned to eliminate each other as a metaphor for relentless
destructive tendencies in a marital dispute."

SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER: CRITERION COLLECTION (reviewed by Dan Mancini,
overall score 95/100):
"In Shoot the Piano Player, Francois Truffaut adds layers of narrative
complexity to the revolutionary cinematic style of his first feature,
The 400 Blows. The result is a movie that is as entertaining as it is
important."

UNKNOWN CHAPLIN: THE MASTER AT WORK (reviewed by James A. Stewart,
overall score 95/100):
"You might not be able to picture how seeing a small bit of comic
business evolve from one wheelchair being pushed to a traffic jam of
wheelchairs, with each version changing just a little bit, can be
involving, but I enjoyed this peek into Chaplin's creative process."
