I dunno I think it is just trying too hard to show it's acceptance of
all lifestyles and being cutting edge and ultra modern.
I was surprised at how adult the material was; being essentially a Dr
Who spin-off. I wonder how many young kids up late on half term who
are now massive Dr Who watched it with parents who had to turn it
over or face some embarrassing questions.
A guy I know said he had sky plus'd it and the indication was that he
was going to watch it and his daugher & son (7 & 9) were looking
forward to it too as they loved Dr Who. I don't know if he watched it
but i hope he didn't just let the children watch it on their own.
The first episode was pretty innocuous, With maybe one "fucking"
uttered and a throat unconvincingly ripped out by an alien
but the 2nd episode could have had parents of younger kids quickly
turning it over as the episode inluded a couple repeatedly viewed
shagging (to climax) in a club toilet (man's arse out) a bouncer later
gruntingly masturbating to the CCTV of the same encounter, the 2nd main
character having a full on lesbian snog which isn't offensive per sé
but would raise questions from young viewers. and some other general
incidents of swearing or sexual language. Seemed to be gratuitously
sexual in content. I tried to explain the episode to my girlfriend and
it sounded stupid. An alien gas creature takes over the body of a girl
because it needs to get it's energy from Orgasms or just sperm as it
turns out after it visits a sperm bank for a fix.
Over all i liked the show but I can't see why this organisation has any
use for the police woman, she seems pretty useless.
