 the limiting factor is not the compression but the audio section of the

 HDV audio is Mpeg 1 layer II aka MP2.  MP3, you guessed it is MPEG 1
 layer III ta da!!  MP2 NEVER refers to MPEG-2 or MPEG-2 AAC.

 NOOBS and hobbyists that might read your drivel and take it as verbatim
