I'm looking to replace the old VHS recorder. At first I thought I
needed a dvd/hdd recorder for time shifting and ability to record tv
programs that may run 4 hours or more. Now I read that perhaps I can
forget about the hdd and the higher price by using dvd ram? I really
just want to record some tv programming on a weekly basis but don't
want to pay the Tivo (or any other) monthly fee. For the price dvd ram
capable units seem to be the ticket for me.....yes? If so what units
should I look at or what units should I definatley avoid?
