This was an offer that ran last week in the Independent - collect three
passwords from the paper, and a fourth one from their website, and choose
one of *ten* World Cinema titles from Play.com.
I did the necessary, and the "unique voucher code" necessary to place the
order was sent by Play at 14.47 today.I clicked on the link just under an
hour later, to find that there was only one title left - A Very Long
Engagement (2 disc edition). I haven't seen it, and it's got Audrey Tautou
in it, so I've ordered it.
BUT I can't help wondering just how many copies they had of all the other
titles, if they ran out so so quickly. Did anyone here actually get to
choose between the ten titles specified in the original offer?
Presumably the offer was intended to promote both the newspaper and
Play.com, but I have to say that it hasn't had a particularly positive
effect on my view of either....

PS The full original list was Hotel Rwanda; Jean De Florette; Manon Des
Sources; A Very Long Engagement; Amores Perros; Crouching Tiger Hidden
Dragon; Tsotsi; Fitzcarraldo; Breathless; Amelie
