Say what you will about the merits of the film or making a overly long movie
even longer (3 1/2 hours+), but I have to say the transfer for this dvd is
absolutely stunning. Probably the overall best looking dvd I've ever seen. I
thought the original transfer on the 2 disc theatrical version was really
good, but this one blows it away. The image is just so crisp and sharp with
vivid, yet stable colors, it almost looks 3D on a high-end Pioneer Elite
Plasma screen.
I can't imagine how sweet the hi-def version will look.
