Horses for courses. I thought Pierce Brosnan was probably the best thing
about the Bond movies he was in, but everything else -the scripts, the
gadgets, the hype, the baddies, the blanderisations all failed to take hold
on any level.
I don't think I could even name the last 4 Bond movies -they're all
interchangeable with rubbish "Bondian" titles.
Daniel Craig is more like Connery than anyone since, although this Bond is
learning the ropes as he goes along (it's his first mission after becoming a
double-O).
....I forgot to say in the last post -if I had to make a comparison, I'd say
Casino Royale is like a mix between On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Dr.
No... with a lot more action. And without anyone looking to take over the
world.
It also makes the most-use of mobile phones I've seen in any film in living
memory.
