(So, those over in r.s.f.c are just catching on, and wanted to impress
us over here on a.v.d. with it?...O-kayyyy: )

It comes out of the industry realization that the most frequent
kiddy-title watchers--namely, youngest kids babysat in front of a movie
or watching the laptop in the backseat on long car trips--might not be
up yet on How to Navigate a DVD Menu. And that's assuming they're old
enough to read one.

Which's why most preschool-level videos you see nowadays start off with
the program and bypass the menu directly--
Except for Disney, who wants to make a big brand-name deal out of it.
And yeah, they still stick on half of those darn previews, too.

(There now, y'see?--All you had to do was ask the Smart People, who knew
this stuff already.
Not as funny, perhaps, but one of the advantages of knowing is that you
don't have to tell the joke again.) :)
