It depends critically on the unit. Your Lite-On is likely using a new
MPEG2 codec like my Insignia LG.

3-hour is rather odd for the US. The ones I have seen most often have
2-hour (standard DVD-5 resolution) and then it skips to 4-hour.
4-hour on my old ILO worked for me on my 19" TV. But with the new
Insignia LG unit I can get by with 6-hour.
