It's interesting that a few years ago, VCR's dropped the 4 hour mode, 
as the quality was not bad, but I've found the 6 hour mode crappy in 
most cases, as is the 6 hour mode on my LG DVR; the 4 hour mode is 
about the same as a very good VCR in 2 hour mode.
