Hi,
I have been recording music from LP records using "AIPL Singulator" which
creates WAV files. This software has features designed for LP records.
Then I use "Free Converter" V1.5.0 by Renan Broquin to convert the WAV
files to MP3. I used these programs on two Windows 98SE computers (Compaq
and Toshiba) that basically have the same software installed such as Media
Player V9, etc.
As a test, I transferred a copy of a particular WAV file to the Compaq
computer, and made a MP3 file of it so I could compare it with the one from
the Toshiba computer. It turns out they are not the same! The length of the
files are the same, but byte for byte, there are some differences. Listening
to the MP3 files, it is hard to tell any difference. Why does
"Free Converter" create an MP3 file of the exact same WAV file, but on a
different computer, that isn't exactly the same MP3 file?
Thanks in advance, Brad
