The OP has a legitimate complaint - it appears to be engaging in
deceptive advertising.
I think a lot of this "throttling" is caused by slow mail at Christmas
time. The bulk mail that NF uses gets low priority. We do not see the
mail action behind the scenes - the shipments in anticipation of
queued requests so that discs are ready to go when you want them. It
would not take much of a disruption to cause a lot of what we are
seeing.
NF admits that it will give higher priority for subscribers who get
fewer discs per month. So if there is even a moderate disruption, some
people are going to be throttled.
The best thing to do is unsubscribe in November and sit it out on the
sidelines for a few months. There's more to life than watching DVDs
all the time.
