I just purchaed an electrohome dvd recorder, so I am still learning.
It has the following input
front av red/white/yellow
front s-video
rear av
rear s-video
RF (coax) input
DV input
I can record from the built in tuner, or from the digital cable box using
the s-video input
For the record - the video quality is quite good for the 1 hr, 2 hr and 3 hr
settings, some slight and increasing degradation for the 4, 6 and 8 hr
settings.
output is
video CVBS, s-video, Y Ch/Pb Cr/Pr
stereo FR, FL red/white and optical
Coaxial cable out
So if this is typical you should be able to do what you need.
