I've always hated the people (whoever they might happen to be) that
chose those two names...
For one thing, they come from the same Latin verb, component from the
present participle and composite from the past participle. That is
enough reason for *me* to get confused, at least :-)
The verb is componere, to put together, for those of you who care (my
mother?).
