The DMR-EH55 is a DVD/HDD unit, so I'm a bit confused by your references to
"tape." I'll assume you're using "tape" as a generic term for "record." (?)
You mention a set-top box connected to the TV. I assume that's a tuner
provided by your cable or satellite provider. (?) Is that also connected to
the EH55? If so, how? If not, what are you using as a signal to the EH55,
i.e. what is plugged into its input(s)? How is the EH55 connected to the
TV, i.e. which EH55 outputs are connected to which TV inputs?
I have a DMR-EH55 (U.S. version), connected to my cable service (no box),
and it records beautifully. It's connected to the TV via an S-video cable.
