Mark: I'm curious - do you see any imperfections at all with your Oppo
via HDMI? When I run HDMI, I see an *extremely* faint line running
across the screen, right about dead center. Looks like a shadow mask
wire from a CRT monitor. It's only noticeable if the screen is
saturated with a consistent light color.

 Doesn't happen via Component.

My only nit with that is that my TV (52" widescreen Toshiba) has some
pretty decent perspective correction for putting 4:3 images onto the
16:9 screen. *But*, they're not enabled if the input is coming in via
HDMI. So on my Oppo, I have both HDMI and Component running to my TV,
and switch back to component if I'm watching something at a wacky
 aspect.

So if there's no Component on the 970, I expect I'll stand pat with my
 971. ;)
