I've just received a Toshiba RD-85DT DVD / HDD Recorder.
Should it be this noisy? It has to be on as I wanted one with FreeView
built it. The fan makes quite a noise, OK, with the TV at a reasonable
volume when there's a fair bit of sound it's not a problem, but in
quiet bits or during talking (ie no action or music) it's clearly
audible from sitting several feet away.
Having not had one before I don't know if this is normal or whether I
should send it back but at the moment I'm really disappointed.
