I downloaded a discography and all the mp3 files in one of the album
folders are corrupt. All the songs in that folder will play ok in VLC
Media Player but not in WMP9 or WinAmp.

I am using Win2K, and when I right click on a file and choose
properties I get a message "the properties for this file are not
available" but in VLC the stream and media info says 44100 Hz and 256
kb/s and the track duration

In Windows, My Computer won't let me copy the files to another
directory, it says "cannot find the specified file"

so what is the problem? how can i fix the files so i can move them to
my music archive and burn them to CD?
