I too listen use mp3 players for audiobooks. I have many mp3 players
at my home, each suiting a specific purpose: for walking the dog
(small player with FM tuner), an MP3 player for running\working out
(more space, digital, easy to navigate) and an MP3 player for
audiobooks and travelling. Although this may not be what you want to
hear, please allow me a few words:
I've found IPods work best for the audiobooks and travelling. I have
to jump through hoops but after trial and error and trial and error and
trial and errror....I've concluded the iPod is best suited for this
purpose due to its ease of use and massive storage space. Here's what I
do to make life a little easier:
1. I bought an iPod that plays MP3s among other formats.
2. I use Litex Medias Audio Conversion Software to convert music to
proper formats.
3. I use non-Itunes software (ephod or anapod) for music transfer. In
fact I suggest staying as far away from itunes as possible.
4. I bite my tongue as I deal with iPods inconsistencies with PCs.
5. I read goto ipodlounge.com with questions.
All and all, with trial and error, and frequent readings on
ipodlounge.com I believe you will find IPod is the best the electronics
world has to offer at this point in time. I suggest finding a store
that offers a money back guarantee. Try the iPod for 20 days and see
how it goes.
