Hi.
I just bought a Philips DVDR3390 DVD Player/Recorder specifically
to record some Christmas shows off of TV that aren't available on dvd.
I used a regular Sony dvd-r to record the shows but after recording the
shows, I can't access the dvd with my computer - my dvd drive says
"no disc in drive". The Philips literature says I it's compatible with all
dvdr formats so I didn't think it mattered what kind of dvdr I used.
So my question is this... is there a specific dvdr out there that must be
used for stand alone dvd recorders? If so, my preference would be to
buy a DVD-RW to reuse with the Philips recorder.
The goal is to take the recorded dvd from the stand alone, rip it to my
computer, remove the commercials, and then record it to a new dvd.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
