when you say nothing at all.... are you sure the dvd rom drive is
working!? - tried looking at it in explorer?
or failing that, tried another dvd? - could simply be that the dvd in
question has something wrong with it.
reason i say that is, vlc has every codec built in - so it will play a
working dvd, on a working dvd drive with nothing extra whatsoever.
