Thank you. When I said that it was doing nothing I was trying a dvd I had
recorded myself. When I tried VLC with a bought DVD it played okay however
when I try to play the one I recorded the window opens up black then
immmediately closes.
This DVD will play on a dedicated DVD player & will also play on my laptop.
As the bought dvd plays presumably this means that the drive is not
faulty...or does it?
