Hi:
I would like to backup my cds using Audiograbber, and after
experimenting with CBR and VBR, I can't detect any differences in
sound between 224kb CBR, and VBR 1. I would save about 10-15 percent
in disk space using VBR 1 over 192kb CBR. Is that really the only
reason to use VBR, to save disk space? On my computer, using THX
speakers, 192KB and more sounds a bit better than the widely used
128Kb, which sounds duller. Copying to a CDR, I can't tell the
difference between 192KB and 128KB. Nero doesn't have a problem
burning VBR mp3s.Doing searches on the topic, people have a variety of
opinions. Nevertheless, most have concluded that 128KB is not good
enough, and at least 192kb is preferable. Using VBR 1, bitrates range
from 128kb to 320 kb on playback.
Thanks
