Install a splitter before the VCR and cable box. One output goes to the
VCR, the other to the cable box. This will only work for unscrambled
analog channels (typically those below 100).
The tricky part is watching it. If your TV has A/V inputs, you should
connect at least one, if not both, to your TV's A/V inputs. If your TV
only has an RF input, it's trickier. Other than getting a better TV, you
could look for a simple RF switch. You would need to switch it to watch
either the VCR or the cable box.
