I have the disc in front of me at this very moment. The label side is
facing up. That is the "top".

The "bottom" of an optical disc is the side the laser reads.
There in no "through" because the active material is coated onto the
bottom surface of the disc. I can *easily* scratch it off leavong
nothing but plastic showing.

Yes. Then there is the plastic disc anf then the active coating
directly on the bottom surface.
